Who are Five Dhyani Buddhas?
The Five Meditation Buddhas or Five Dhyani Buddhas which has been worshiped since 500 BC to today. The 5 Dhyani Buddhas are Akshobya, Vairocana, Ratnasambhava, Amogasiddhi, and Amitabha. The Three Jewels are Dharma (teaching), Buddha (teacher) and Sangha (community).
🙏Amitabha is known for his longevity attribute, magnetising Western attributes of discernment, pure perception and purification of the aggregates with a deep awareness of emptiness of all phenomena. According to these scriptures, Amitābha possesses infinite merit resulting from good deeds over countless past lives as a bodhisattva named Dharmākara. Amitābha means “Infinite Light”, and Amitāyus means “Infinite Life” so Amitābha is also called “The Buddha of Immeasurable Light and Life”.
🙏Akshobhya (“Immovable One”) is one of the Five Wisdom Buddhas, a product of the Adibuddha, who represents consciousness as an aspect of reality. By convention he is located in the east of the Diamond Realm and is the lord of the Eastern Pure Land Abhirati (‘The Joyous’). His consort is Lochanā and he is normally accompanied by two elephants.
🙏Vairocana (also knows as Vairochana or Mahavairocana) is a celestial Buddha who is often interpreted, in spiritual texts like the Flower Garland Sutra (Avatamsaka Sutra), as the Dharma Body of the historical Gautama Buddha.He is frequently referred to as “the great illuminating one” or “the all-encompassing Buddha.”
🙏Ratnasambhava can be literally translated as “born from the jewel” or “Origin of Jewels.” The element of Ratnasambhava is earth, and his chakra is the Manipura chakra. Buddha Ratnasambhava cardinal direction is the south and the color of his body is yellow which represent the color of the sun.
🙏Amoghasiddhi is one of the Five Wisdom Buddhas of the Mahayana and Vajrayana tradition of Buddhism. He is associated with the accomplishment of the Buddhist path and of the destruction of the poison of envy.
